Microsoft may unlock “hidden” Xbox One performance boosts in time, suggests Witcher 3 dev

Witcher 3 is expected to arrive somewhere of next year and from what the developers say, they had an easy time building it.Török,  Witcher 3 developer has said in an interview with Eurogamer‘s that “The Xbox One is pretty easy to understand because not just the hardware is similar to the PC, but everything like the [software development kit], the [application programming interface] is really similar to what you would find on a PC.” Török believes that Microsoft will open up more power to the developers just like they did with the Xbox 360, they open many ” parts ” for developers to work with. Phil Spencer Can’t Assure Gears of War To Stay Xbox Exclusive

Microsoft Studios vice president Phil Spencer, spoke with Kotaku today about Xbox One and the games that will be exclusive for the console, and from what he said we can understand that Gears Of War might not stay as an exclusive for Xbox One.

It’s Epic’s franchise. You and I both know that. I can’t make any assurances about anybody else’s franchise. I’m a huge fan of the franchise. I want to continue to work with Gears. I think there’s a lot of life left in that franchise. We had an internal discussion on it even yesterday. It’s something that’s active in discussion about what we can do with Gears. Obviously, I know [Epic’s management] Tim Sweeney, Mark Rein, Jay Wilbur incredibly well, so nothing to announce yet and I’d say, yes, there’s nothing even pending that I’m holding to announce, but I understand the importance of the franchise to the Xbox platform and to gamers—I’d say gamers first. It’d be great to do something forward with that franchise.

We all know that Microsoft will surely jump at the opportunity of another entry of GOW but nothing is announced yet.

FIFA 14 crashing on the Xbox One, EA thinks it’s caused by booting up with two controllers

Looks like EA got problems with FIFA 14 on Xbox One. EA things that two controllers connected may be causing the game to crash.

The EA Sports support page reads:

Using two separate controllers, both assigned to user profiles, and then using controller two to navigate the bootflow when FIFA 14 is loading can result in a crash. The FIFA dev team will be fixing this issue as soon as possible (shortly after launch) but, in the meantime and as a workaround: please only use controller one to navigate the bootflow of FIFA 14. You can turn on and use the controller two once in the main menu.

Users as well had reported a bootflow issue, which believed to be caused by leaving the console inactive until it sleeps.

If you suspend the console on the title screen in the Xbox One bootflow, you will not be able to access any online features when returning from an unsuspended state. As a workaround: don’t suspend the console when on the title screen. If you do, simply restart the console.
