The Xbox Two and PS5 should arrive by 2018-2019, says EA boss

EA Studios executive vice-president Patrick Söderlund had a nice talk with MCV  where he explained why he thinks that Xbox Two and PS5 will arrive in 2018-2019.

“This console [360/PS3] cycle may have gone on a little bit longer than I would have wanted.”

Söderlund says that there’s an upside to a longer console cycle, though in his opinion old console games are better.  “At the same time, you have seen games like The Last of Us and GTA V at the end of a cycle which perhaps you would not have expected a few years ago.” He feels that manufacturers won’t permit ageing hardware to linger next time round, however. “A five, six-year gap is what I expect going forward.”

GTA Online repeat mission payouts reduced by 50%, according to Rockstar

Oh this is bad news guys, according to the developer, the first time a players beats a mission, they will receive the full amount but if a player replays the mission again then he will loss 50% of the original payout.

Rockstar says;

“This is to keep the game balanced as well as encourage the exploration of new missions and content in the game.”

“We understand players do like to enjoy a mission multiple times, so rather than remove the possibility of doing so, we’ve allowed replays of these missions at a reduced payout.

“Many players can get very good at a mission and beat it much faster in consecutive tries, so we’ve adjusted these payouts to match that case. This also ties in to our ongoing discussion of replay availability for NPC missions, in which we are taking community feedback as well.”
