The Xbox Two and PS5 should arrive by 2018-2019, says EA boss

EA Studios executive vice-president Patrick Söderlund had a nice talk with MCV  where he explained why he thinks that Xbox Two and PS5 will arrive in 2018-2019.

“This console [360/PS3] cycle may have gone on a little bit longer than I would have wanted.”

Söderlund says that there’s an upside to a longer console cycle, though in his opinion old console games are better.  “At the same time, you have seen games like The Last of Us and GTA V at the end of a cycle which perhaps you would not have expected a few years ago.” He feels that manufacturers won’t permit ageing hardware to linger next time round, however. “A five, six-year gap is what I expect going forward.”

Microsoft may unlock “hidden” Xbox One performance boosts in time, suggests Witcher 3 dev

Witcher 3 is expected to arrive somewhere of next year and from what the developers say, they had an easy time building it.Török,  Witcher 3 developer has said in an interview with Eurogamer‘s that “The Xbox One is pretty easy to understand because not just the hardware is similar to the PC, but everything like the [software development kit], the [application programming interface] is really similar to what you would find on a PC.” Török believes that Microsoft will open up more power to the developers just like they did with the Xbox 360, they open many ” parts ” for developers to work with. Because of that Török thinks that Microsoft will follow the same steps and open the power for the developers, but later.

FIFA 14 crashing on the Xbox One, EA thinks it’s caused by booting up with two controllers

Looks like EA got problems with FIFA 14 on Xbox One. EA things that two controllers connected may be causing the game to crash.

The EA Sports support page reads:

Using two separate controllers, both assigned to user profiles, and then using controller two to navigate the bootflow when FIFA 14 is loading can result in a crash. The FIFA dev team will be fixing this issue as soon as possible (shortly after launch) but, in the meantime and as a workaround: please only use controller one to navigate the bootflow of FIFA 14. You can turn on and use the controller two once in the main menu.

Users as well had reported a bootflow issue, which believed to be caused by leaving the console inactive until it sleeps.

If you suspend the console on the title screen in the Xbox One bootflow, you will not be able to access any online features when returning from an unsuspended state. As a workaround: don’t suspend the console when on the title screen. If you do, simply restart the console.

Marc Whitten: Xbox One’s Launch Graphics “Just the Beginning.”

In an interview with  BBC Marc Whitten, Xbox Corporate Vice President said that he believes  that the graphics of games like Forza Motorsport 5 and Ryse: Son of Rome are already amazing, but they’re just the beginning and the Xbox One will be able to show even more spectacular games in the future, this “future” part seems to be hinting us about a newer version of Xbox One.

I think there’s a couple of things: First, you know, I think a lot of the games are amazing. When you look at the play of light through the Forza windshield, the incredible graphics of a game like Ryse, I think for sure these are things that are just inherently not possible on the current generation of consoles.

But it’s also just the beginning, and you know, as we’ve seen with 360, you start with this toolbox, people build amazing things on day one, and then as time goes on, they get better and better at using those tools, we provide more capabilities in the system, and you just see better and better content come from there.

To me this is the beginning of an amazing journey.

One vs 360 controller comparisons

Xbox One controller is already out  being delivered to those who had pre-ordered the consoles and the controller, you can also buy the controller right now, and lucky we have our hands on the controller  and decided to do a compression between the 360 and the One controllers.

As you see nothing really changed in the controller, same old buttons at the same old places. The only change I had probably noticed is the sleek design, the controller seems to be a bit lighter but i don’t thing you will notice that. Check out the gallery below.
